Otto Pop is the editor of Consulnest. Otto Pop decides which topics the site covers, approves every new topic before work on it starts, and reads a sample of the pages published each day, with the automated checks that ran on them.

Pages are drafted by software from public data and checked automatically before they go live; the editor does not read every page before publication. Readers can report errors or ask about the data through the contact page, and every significant correction is logged publicly.

What the editor is responsible for

Choosing and approving every topic before Consulnest covers it.
Reading a sample of each day's published pages, together with the automated fact-check and quality results for those pages.
Deciding on corrections and logging significant ones on the corrections page.

Standards

Every figure comes from a public primary source, mainly the U.S. Energy Information Administration, and is recalculated automatically from the raw data before a page is published. How pages are made is described in the editorial policy and the methodology.
